Privacy policy

KlatBuddy is an Android app that displays streaming chat and supported activity. This policy covers the app and this informational website.

Data the app uses

Depending on the connections you enable, KlatBuddy receives channel and user identifiers, display names, chat messages, timestamps, emotes, badges and supported activity such as follows, subscriptions, gifts, cheers, raids or tips. It uses this information to display your feeds, apply filters and avoid duplicate events.

Google and YouTube access

When you link YouTube, Google asks you to authorize read-only YouTube access. KlatBuddy uses that access to identify the selected channel, find broadcasts, receive live chat and read available channel activity, including publicly visible subscribers. Google account passwords are entered on Google's sign-in pages, not collected by KlatBuddy.

Google authorization tokens and the linked channel identity are stored locally to maintain the connection. YouTube data is used only for the reader and activity features you request. It is not sold, used for advertising or used to train artificial intelligence models. KlatBuddy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage and security

Saved account credentials and connection settings are encrypted on your device using Android Keystore-backed protection and excluded from Android backup. Chat and activity feeds are held in bounded app memory rather than a developer-operated chat archive. Downloaded images and embedded web content may be cached locally. Keep your device, API URLs, session IDs and widget links secure.

Connections and third parties

In Direct mode, the device connects to the selected platform and its infrastructure. KlatBuddy does not route these connections through a developer-operated server. Platforms and image hosts receive normal network information, such as your IP address, and process requests under their own policies.

If you enable Social Stream Ninja, chat and activity are received through its third-party relay after you consent in the app. Optional StreamElements connections receive tip data. Configured browser sources load third-party pages, which may use cookies, network services or audio features under their own policies. Emote features request metadata and images from the configured emote providers, including 7TV and platform image hosts.

KlatBuddy does not include developer-operated advertising or analytics, and does not automatically upload your chat or account credentials to the developer.

Your choices and deletion

Disconnect or stop the session to stop receiving data. Use Unlink locally to remove a linked account from the app, and Forget saved setup to clear saved configuration. Clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall it to remove its local data. These actions do not delete information held by streaming platforms or revoke authorization there.

You can revoke Google access in your Google account's connections settings. Other connected services provide their own account-access controls.

This website and support

This static website is hosted by Cloudflare. No analytics scripts, advertising, forms or tracking cookies are added by KlatBuddy. Cloudflare processes network request information to deliver and protect the site under its privacy policy.

If you contact the developer, the information you choose to send is used to respond and investigate your request. Do not send passwords, authorization tokens, private session IDs or API keys.

This policy will be updated when relevant app behavior changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
